The above does not, therefore, necessarily represent the extreme maximum of speed that may be obtained from any gear ratio.

MEASUREMENTS.

1 mile per hour = 88 feet per minute.

= 1.46 feet per second.

= 27.8 meters per minute.

= 0.463 meter per second.
